Daylight Savings Transition Dates - Workaround

To further minimize confusion for users during the extended DST period, follow these steps BEFORE 5 October 2008:

  1. When a meeting is organised during the extended DST period, write the correct meeting time in the subject line or the body of the message.

For example, include the following text in the subject line or the body of the message:
      Project planning meeting – 8:30 a.m. AEDT

  2. Consider any calendar items in the extended DST period (that is between 5 and 26 October 2008) to be suspect. If you are not sure, verify the correct time with the organiser (phone or email contact to confirm).
  3. For highly business critical staff and systems, make paper based records of schedules for the overlap period (i.e. before 5 October 2008 make print-outs from electronic calendaring applications for the period 5 October 2008 until 3am on 26 October 2008).

Please note: This is a workaround during the transition period. Please make sure that the appropriate patches and updates are applied to reduce future confusion
