Daylight Savings Transition Dates - Workaround
To further minimize confusion for users during the extended DST period, follow these steps BEFORE 5 October 2008:
- When a meeting is organised during the extended DST period, write the correct meeting time in the subject line or the body of the message.
- For example, include the following text in the subject line or the body of the message:
Project planning meeting – 8:30 a.m. AEDT - Consider any calendar items in the extended DST period (that is between 5 and 26 October 2008) to be suspect. If you are not sure, verify the correct time with the organiser (phone or email contact to confirm).
- For highly business critical staff and systems, make paper based records of schedules for the overlap period (i.e. before 5 October 2008 make print-outs from electronic calendaring applications for the period 5 October 2008 until 3am on 26 October 2008).
Please note: This is a workaround during the transition period. Please make sure that the appropriate patches and updates are applied to reduce future confusion
