About Lecture Streaming Service

Lecture Streaming Pilot Service at University of Sydney is delivered through a technology known as Lectopia.

With Lectopia, students can access lecture recordings over the internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at their own convenience. Through Lectopia, audio and visuals from traditional face-to-face lectures are automatically recorded and processed into a variety of streaming media formats.

At University of Sydney, Lectopia is installed in a number of lecture theatres: Enabled Venues List .

Although currently in a Pilot stage the technology is utilised by many teaching and learning areas across the Univesrity.
The recording/booking process is simple, please check the Booking details here

For enabled venues with a booking, all that is required is for the lecturer to turn on the microphone for the recording to begin.
The audio and visual recordings are then incorporated into unit pages on WebCT, Blackboard or Medicine LMS system for students to access.
