Microsoft CAUDIT Campus Agreement 2006 - 2008
The agreement grants the University the non-exclusive right during the licensed period to run copies of the following software in either the Macintosh or Windows version (including the current versions and all upgrades) during the period of the agreement:
- Microsoft Office Enterprise (Office for Mac now includes Virtual PC)
- Windows upgrade
- SQL Server CAL
- Enterprise CAL Suite (includes Windows Server, Exchange Server, Systems Management Server, Office Communication Server, Standard and Enterprise, Sharepoint Enterprise Server, Exchange Enterprise Server, Rights Management Server, System Centre)
- Microsoft Sharepoint Designer
- Microsoft Visual Studio
NOTE: When purchasing new machines an operating system must be installed at the time of purchase as the agreement only covers upgrades.
NOTE: Licenses granted under the CAUDIT Campus Agreement are not perpetual licenses
NOTE: Microsoft applications and desktop operating system licenses allow you to have two (2) instances of the software running on the one machine which has a valid windows or MacOS license. This means that no more than one virtual machine can be installed on a Windows machine.
Who can use the software
- Staff of the University
- Students of the University and approved affiliates in labs and teaching facilities on campus only.
- Staff employed by independent campus and student entities, where the principal function of the entity is to support the life and culture of the university or student life associated with the university.
- Visiting Professors,Fellows or other academic researchers, scholars, teachers,consultants and contractors working at the university or approved affiliates.
NOTE: Approved affiliates are either eligible education institutions or other entities owned by the University (where 'owned' means more than 50% ownership) 'the principal function of which is to support the life and culture or the University or student life associated with the University'.
NOTE: Under no circumstances can the software be installed on a machine owned by a student or other organisation eg.hospital
Staff of the University may install and run the software available under the CAUDIT agreement on a home PC, that they own or lease, for university work related and personal purposes only.
NOTE:
a) The right is limited to using the same version of the product that is installed on the staff member's work computer.
b) The software must not be used to run private business activities.
c) The "Work at Home" agreement does not include: staff of affiliates and approved independent entities, visitors, contractors or consultants
Installations under the "Work at Home" provision may only be done using media purchased from ICT by the staff member's department for the exclusive use of the individual staff member.

NOTE:
a) Installation codes for "Work at Home" media will be individually allocated and will be different from the University license codes.
b) CSO's are not permitted to copy media for staff to use at home.
c) Purchase of the media sets can only be paid for by journal transfer from a university account.
Staff may not use media purchased under the Microsoft SELECT Agreement to facilitate the the installation of CAUDIT software on a machine owned or leased by the staff member unless the staff member brings the "home PC" into the University and has the software installed "at a central location that you (the University) control(s)"
NOTE: Software puchased under the University's SELECT agreement is not available for Work at Home use and must not be installed on non university owned equipment
