ICT Email Migration Project
The University of Sydney is currently undertaking a Project to migrate the University's staff email to the USYD ICT Microsoft Exchange 2003 System managed by ICT.
The ICT Email Migration Project objective is to provide a consistent University Email service utilising the USYD ICT Microsoft Exchange 2003 System designed and implemented in 2005.
The Project will align to the University’s Strategic Directions 2006-2010 and meets the corporate requirement for a globally integrated and redundant mail and calendaring system producing benefits such as:
- Significantly reduce the total cost of email service provision to all University staff
- Standardising University email addressing and usage policies
- Improved robustness inclusive of Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities.
- Enhanced email security, anti-virus and anti-spam technologies.
- Increased functionality - calendaring, shared diaries centralised meeting room bookings, email distribution lists, Global Address List (GAL)
- Improved performance and scalability through email reliability, security and functionality for all University staff
The Project will be moving staff to the new system over the coming months. You will be contacted by your nominated project liaison who will advise you of your scheduled ‘migration’ date and also inform of the migration process, end user expectations and project contacts.
