Computer Quick Patch CD

NOTE - This resource does not yet patch for the Sasser worm

This zipped file contains copies of Antivirus Software and Windows Updates necessary to make an Windows PC safe from the W32.Sobig.F@mm, W32.Welchia.Worm and W32.Blaster.Worm viruses.

To use these files:

Download the file safecd.zip onto a clean computer from the network;

Unzip the files and copy them to a CD or other suitable media;

Insert the CD or other media into the new computer and double-click on the file called 1-AV.BAT from the root of the CD (or media) - Follow any instructions and prompts generated by the batch file or the Symantec Anti Virus Installer; then

If you have installed Windows NT4, Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows 2003 run a batch file on the CD (or media) called 2-OSVersion.BAT (Where OSVersion matches the Operating System you have installed).
So if you are using Windows XP the file you would use is called 2-WINXP.BAT, and if you are using Windows 2000 you would use the file 2-WIN2K.BAT. Follow any onscreen prompts the batch file pops up.

Note:- if you are running Windows 2003 on a 64bit System run 2-WIN200364.BAT.
